About Me

My name is Sharon Briss and I am a totally non-apologetic stamping addict, aspiring writer and all-round rogue.

When I stamp, I just love playing with inks and images and seeing what happens.  I started doing some assemblage and mixed media pieces in 2010 but my heart remains stuck on stamping.   I suffer from what I affectionately call Multiple Style Disorder although I always go back to vintage.    I am also a victim of S.A.D. otherwise known as Stamp Acquisition Disorder.

In 2009, I started a technique and challenge blog with one of my sensational stamping pals, Ali Manning, and Gingersnap Creations was born.  After 3 years as a Founding Femme and Creative Director for Gingersnap Creations, I decided to start something new.  In 2012, I founded and became the Unruly Editor of the Unruly PaperArts blogozine which includes articles, tutorials, reviews and step-by-step projects from a panel of wonderful columnists and contributing artists. As of October 2013, I turned over the Editor duties for the blogozine to Danie May and I contributed to Unruly with my Vintrigue columns until March 2014 .

My art has appeared in Take Ten, Stamper's Sampler, Technique Junkies and Craft Stamper over the years.

From 2010 to 2015, I was the Chief Rogue at Rogue Redhead Designs which specializes in vintage and eclectic unmounted rubber stamps.  I had a ton of fun creating new designs and then inking them up along with the rest of the Rogue Crew.   Family obligations and that nasty "real life" stuff took over most of my leisure time in 2015 so I am currently taking a break from my company and off-and-on from stamping.  I look forward to "going rogue" again in a few years.

Right now, I am concentrating on my family and getting my daughter ready for the big jump to college life in the next couple of years, working with my husband at the family practice and basically trying to find the floor and maybe a table in my craft room.  When daily life resumes a more predictable and less hectic pace, I hope to be back to stamping on a more regular basis.  In the meantime, Ill Tempered Ink will consist of a mishmash of stamping, crafting, and random musings.

I hope you enjoy my blog!  I've been so inspired by all the great paint and sculpture artists, gorgeous stampers, collage artists, and scrapbookers that  I have met along my journey so far!
