Dotty Cupcakes

Sorry to have been absent so long! October is the most devilish month for getting beyond busy! Lots of great things going on but I'll have to tell you all about it later - cuz it's a secret!

I wanted to share my last sample for the "Go Dotty" Rebel Challenge on Rogue Redhead Designs as this Sunday is the final day to submit entries.

For this card, I used my Candy Kisses plate to create some dotty cupcakes. I used lots of warm color in honor of fall and everything pumpkin. I wonder if they are pumpkin cupcakes? Hmm...

I paperpieced them with a few different papers and some red cardstock for the cherry on top!

I hope you have a spooktacular Halloween!   I got my Unruly Eerie ATCs from the Unruly PaperArts Group Swap! I'll be showing them off shortly.  So fun!  Thanks to everyone who played along!

A shout out to everyone who made it through Hurricane Sandy! My thoughts are with each and every one of you!

Snowy Mostly Monochrome

In keeping with the new challenge on Rogue Redhead Designs - Go Dotty, I've gone a bit dotty with a winter-themed card!

I started with a panel of glossy paper and dragged it through some Ranger Broken China distress ink.  I let it dry and then stamped my Crazy Dot background from Snow Hugs overtop.  I stamped the cuddling couple onto white cardstock and then painted in the color with an aquabrush using the same distress ink and Taken with Teal dye ink from Stampin' Up.  To finish off, I did a little copic marker coloring on the faces.  Before mounting the focal image onto the background, I added a little handmade paper and the sentiment.  Voila!  An easy monochrome card with lots going on! Okay, it's not completely monochrome but teal hair just did not seem right :)

Stamps: Crazy Dot background and cuddling couple from Snow Hugs,
sentiment from Candy Kisses (Rogue Redhead Designs)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

 C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Monochromatic

Divas by Design - Anything Goes

Hope your day is filled with the soft colors of Autumn.  I'll be staying cool making more winter cards!

Going Rogue with Dots

We've got a new Rebel challenge over at Rogue Redhead Designs - Go Dotty!  Use dotted paper, stamped dots or dots in your design!

I just got the new Technique Junkies newsletter so I picked out one of their fun new techniques to try!  This one is called "In the Middle" and it makes for a great Clean and Simple style card.

Stamps: rose, fern, cosmos blossom, lily of the valley
and sentiment from Floriculture (Rogue Redhead Designs)
I also thought this card might work for the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps and More - Clean and Simple

Tip Top Tuesday - Things with Wings (Bee)

The House That Stamps Built - Masking (sentiment is masked)

Hope you have a fabulous day filled with the life's flowers!

Going Rogue with my Scrap Strips

Today, I decided to use up some of my scraps - especially the ones that are really too small most of the time to use but too big for me to really feel good about throwing them away.

Here's one of the cards I made:

Stamps: Marie from Relish Reading and sentiment from Bits and Pieces (Rogue Redhead Designs)

I am entering it into the following challenges:

CASual Fridays - For the Girls

In the Pink - Pink plus One (Pink and Black)

If you would like to see the other cards I made with this same idea, check out my Simple Set Saturday post on Rogue Redhead Designs.

Happy Birthday, Dude!

One of the Roguette's friends had a birthday coming up so I whipped up a card that I hoped (crossing fingers) would be okay.

I started with a redhead with attitude which seemed to be a good idea to my little redhead with an attitude.

Here's what the rest of the card looked like:

Stamps: girl (Stampotique), Happy Birthday (Rogue Redhead Designs) and Dude from acrylic alphabet set.

I am entering this card into the following fab challenges:

Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenges - Go Green

Try It On Tuesday - Lots of Layers (at least 6)

Hope you are having an awesome day!

Fabulous Fall

I just love the fantastic colors of Autumn! The air is crisp and the hues vibrant. It's this time of year when I can't wait to be outside in the "sweater weather" but I also love being inside with my cup of tea afterward.

Today, I made a card with this kind of feeling in mind. I've used my Rogue Redhead Designs Nature Notes set and some fun rust colored paper from my scrap basket. I colored the tree image minimally with copic markers just to give a hint of color. For the frame around the image, I used a Technique Junkies technique called Torn Frames which I love for a quick and easy distressed look.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Loves Rubber Stamping - All About Autumn

Creative Stamp Friends - Autumn Colours

There's Magic in the Air - Anything Fall

Hope your Autumn day is awesome!
