Late to the Party as Always

Okay, I meant to post this last week, but I was busy having my pancake dinner and throwing Mardi Gras beads to the passing wildlife off my deck! The rest of the week is a blur....must have been that wicked and wild maple syrup!

Here's my Mardi Gras card for 2011! I used the Gingersnap Creations Yahoo Group Technique of the Month, multi-color embossing. For this card, I started out with some purple and then added a previously created mixture of red, green and gold.

Venetian Mardi Gras
Stamp: collaged woman (Curious by Design)
Paper: Night to Remember (Creative Imaginations)
Cardstock: Whisper White and Elegant Eggplant (Stampin Up)
Ink: Versamark
Embellishments: 4 deep rose ribbon flowers
Other: Gold and Red embossing powder (Ranger); purple embossing powder (Stampendous); green embossing powder (Judikins)
Tools: embossing buddy (Stampin Up); heat tool; oval cutter (Creative Memories)

So where did I get the mix of red, green and gold? From making the card below with it's multicolored stripes of embossing.

Festive Flowers
Stamp: flowers (Above the Mark)
Paper: scrap from the basket
Cardstock: Barely Banana and Whisper White (Stampin Up)
Other: Gold and Red embossing powder (Ranger); green embossing powder (Judikins)
Tools: embossing buddy (Stampin Up); heat tool

Here's a side view:

Hope you are having a fabulously colorful day! Don't forget to check out the Mardi Gras fun at Gingersnap Creations!
