On the CASE: Part One

Today, on Gingersnap Creations, it's time for another Once in a Blue Moon Challenge. These challenges which happen only once every 3 months or so, generally send our Gingersnappers into our archives but this time we decided to send them out to blogs of our Design Team, the Gingers.

The mission for this challenge? To CASE (Copy and Steal Everything) a Ginger! Of course, you have to make the piece your own with your own colors, images, paper and style but our inspiring inkers are a great place to get some fabulous ideas.

I decided to CASE three of my fellow Gingers. This first card is a total rip-off of a much prettier card by my great frend and awesome stamper, Debby Boltman. In addition to being part of the Gingersnap Creations Design Team, Debby is also on the Design Teams for Hearts in Touch, Paper Temptress, and Squigglefly.

Click here to see the actual card and how Debby taught me to add those wonderful dots. She is so creative with her materials!

What really drew me to this card was Debby's excellent use of color and her fantastic design touches. She adds lots of visual interest through subtle use of texture and embellishments. I also liked the whimsical image that she chose which gives the card a really fun feel.

Here's what I did:

Stamps: bear and snowflakes from DoodleFactory Santa's Sweet Shop plate and flourish from DoodleFactory Fairy Tale plate (Starving Artistamps)
Cardstock: sky blue and green crepe ruche (PaperTemptress); Night of Navy and Whisper White(Stampin Up)
Ink: Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Copics: B26, B41, C1, C3, C5, E35, R11, YG95, YG97, YR24
Embellishments: 6 self-adhesive rhinestones

Now, CASEing someone else's work sounds really easy, but believe me it is definitely a challenge! Why not play along with us and see some fabulous and inspiring art along the way?
