Thursday Technique - Kissing

31 Days of Holiday Cards Continues!

Using the "kiss" technique for stamping, you can add texture and fun to your existing stamp collection.

It's a very easy technique. First, chose a bold, solid stamp and a background or small element stamp. Ink up the solid stamp and then lay it ink-side up on your work surface. Lightly "kiss" your background stamp to the surface of the solid stamp, picking up some of the ink and creating a pattern on the solid stamp. I then stamp the excess ink on the background stamp on my scrap before doing any additional "kisses". Stamp your solid stamp as desired.

I love using flourishes for this technique as they create such great patterns. Despite having said that, I went with a heart for the "kiss" instead. You can see part of the heart image on the sleigh.

Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up); generic red from Michael's

Hope you have fun with this easy technique! Don't forget to add a comment with a link to your card!
